FULL TIME COOK

I. QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Knowledge of cooking and kitchen equipment

II. RESPONSIBLE TO: Food Service Director

III. RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepare meals for groups year-round, in all kitchens and specifically one kitchen in the summer.
  2. Follow menus and recipes as written.
  3. Prepare meals, making them look and taste good.
  4. Assist in keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and organized – including all storage areas and refrigeration areas.
  5. Assist with the rotation of food and the stocking of kitchens.
  6. Follow guidelines for food storage and handling. Avoid waste.
  7. Supervise staff during set up and clean up of dining hall.
  8. Ensure that staff is following health department and camp rules and regulations.
  9. Help in developing new ideas for menus and recipes.
  10. Make sure to maintain high level of service to groups and campers.
  11. Participate in the spiritual development of kitchen staff.
  12. Assist Food Service Manager in seasonal cleaning and activities.
  13. Complete training in first aid procedures and fire prevention systems.
