Doug & Kathy Lingusky
Kathy was born and raised in Elgin, Nebraska, a huge town of about 900 people. She moved to Colorado in 1974. Doug was born in Pittsburgh, and lived there til he was about 6 years old. His family then moved to Cincinnati, where he spent most of the rest of his school years. Just before his senior year, they moved to the Denver area. The couple met in 1975, and was married in 1978, living and working in Denver. They moved to the Bailey area in 1984, when son, Andy, was a baby, and quickly became acquainted with Camp and several individual staff members. When the need arose for cooks, Kathy went to work for Camp in1996, working in the kitchens for 6 years. In 2002, a need arose for a registrar, and it seemed that God was calling her to that position. Having been, for the most part, a stay-at-home mom until working for Camp, learning the data base program was the biggest challenge. After 22 years of commuting to Denver for his job as a construction inspector, Doug went to work for Jeffco schools as a cook. This left his summers free, and he was able to join summer staff as the Denver runner, and all-round gopher for Camp. Camp has been quite a blessing for the family, allowing Andy to grow up around a lot of wonderful Christian people, and all of them being able to work in a Christian atmosphere. They look forward to many more years of service with Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je.
