John was born in Arapahoe County in Colorado on May 21, 1950. He was raised in a Christian home but did not give his life to the Lord until January 7, 1970 at a ski camp at Camp Id Ra Ha Je. Lindy was born in California on September 19, 1954 and was raised in a non-Christian home and gave her life to the Lord while attending Lutheran Bible Camp on August 10, 1970. Eventually her whole family became Christians. John met Lindy at Rockmont College , which is now Colorado Christian University in 1972 and fell madly in love. They were married on March 9, 1974 and have lived and worked at Camp Id Ra Ha Je ever since. They have three adult Christian children who are married to wonderful spouses and live in Colorado and have five darling grandchildren which are the joy of their lives. John was assistant director from 1973 to 1983 then became Executive Director and that is what he is doing today. Lindy has been a counselor, pottery instructor, cook, and the General Store Manager, which she has served since 1983. John received his call from the Lord while running a week of camp in California in 1971. His life verse is Joshua 1:8, 9. “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” |
